Androscoggin Bank - MainStreet Foundation
Grants of up to $5,000 to Maine nonprofit organizations for programs, projects, and services that deliver measurable outcomes with sustainable long-term benefits for at-risk youth. Funding will be provided for the following types of programs and initiatives: after-school and mentoring programs; initiatives providing leadership development experiences of all types; programs promoting literacy and love of learning; services promoting coping with homelessness and family discord; programs promoting mental health and developing effective change and coping mechanisms; and initiatives teaching life-management skills, such as: earning, saving, budgeting, and effectively spending money.
These grants vary based on need and are awarded in amounts up to $5,000.
The Foundation does not support multi-year requests.
Androscoggin Bank's MainStreet Foundation, whether through our Quarterly Awards or $25k for Kids Award, intends to provide support for non-profit organizations that meet IRS 501(c)(3) status and have filed a form 990 with the IRS within the last calendar year.
Grants are not intended to support annual operating budgets, endowments, training of trainers or teachers, facilities renovation or improvements, conferences, or seminars. The Foundation does not support political organizations or candidates, religious organizations, or activities for sectarian purposes.
The Foundation does not support capital campaigns.
The Foundation asks that Impact and Seed Grant recipients not apply for additional funding for at least twelve months or one calendar year, whichever is longer, from the conclusion of any previously funded projects before submitting another request. The Bank will take into consideration total donations of Androscoggin Bank in deciding upon a grant request to the Foundation. Grants awarded are generally limited to the market areas served by Androscoggin Bank.
