The selected contractor shall hire and supervise five (5) full-time Disability Program Navigators to work closely with WF1CC staff, jobseekers with disabilities and business customers in the WF1CC. The DPN Program will facilitate consumer choice in addressing the needs of individuals with disabilities seeking training and employment opportunities in WF1CCs established under the Workforce Investment Act. The DPN Program goal is to increase employment for individuals with disabilities by linking them to employers and by facilitating access to supports and services that will provide transition to employment.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

A minimum of three-years (3) of successful experience providing Services for individuals with disabilities; A demonstrated understanding of the special needs and issues of individuals with disabilities, particularly related to workforce services; Experience providing training to different audiences on issues and programs related to individuals with disabilities, i.e., disability etiquette training, adaptive technology, etc.; Experience addressing barriers to employment faced by individuals with disabilities; Experience in assisting individuals with disabilities to access existing programs that support successful entry or re-entry into the workforce; Experience working with other supportive service providers; Knowledge of the Workforce Investment Act (WIA) Social Security Disability Insurance and Supplemental Security Income programs and other supportive programs, including knowledge of the laws and policies affecting individuals with disabilities, i.e. Section 188 of WIA provides prohibition of
discrimination regarding participation, benefits and employment relating to individuals with disabilities, and the Americans with Disabilities Act; and Knowledge of accessibility standards; Experience marketing and outreaching to individuals with disabilities.
