Grants ranging up to $25,000 to develop trails and trail facilities in New Jersey. Funding may be used for maintenance and restoration of existing trails, development and rehabilitation of trailside and trailhead facilities, purchase and lease of recreational trail construction and maintenance equipment, and construction of new recreational trails. Trailside facilities may include parking, signage, shelters and water, sanitary, and disabled access facilities.

Friends of a Park group recognized by a governmental agency as a volunteer organization is eligible to apply.
The trail proposal must be located on land that is either:
a) Publicly owned; or
b) Privately owned with a governmental agency holding an easement for public access.
The maximum grant award for a non-motorized trail project is $25,000. The grant award for a
motorized trail project is based on the number of viable motorized project applications and the
amount of motorized grant funding available (at least 30% of the overall funding must be for
motorized trail projects).
