New Jersey State Council on the Arts
Grants to bring talented and skilled artists into New Jersey private and public schools and communities to enhance and expand art education. The goal of the grant is to engage students in specific skills-based forms of art that will ultimately help them prepare for challenges of the 21st century. Since research has shown that young people involved in art score higher on tests and demonstrate a higher aptitude for character development, schools will work directly with the resident artist to build a strong arts curriculum. Artists will take up residencies ranging from 20-100 days.
Residencies are available in the following disciplines: Dance, Music, Theatre, Opera/Music Theatre, Visual Arts, Design Arts, Crafts, Photography, Media Art, Creative Writing, Interdisciplinary and Folk Arts.
