Initial grant of $100,000 is being awarded to develop a program which introduces research-based methods of instruction into Illinois colleges' and universities' teacher training programs. The grantee will also develop a replicable method for providing the program's graduate students with field experience in schools that have implemented these methods of instruction. The grantee will also work to increase the number of graduates employed in low-income districts whose students are not performing well.
