Grants for up to $10,000 to improve community life in South Carolina. This grant seeks to fund arts and health-related organizations, education programming, efforts for conserving the environment, strengthening of neighborhoods and satisfying basic human needs. The purpose of this funding is to strengthen organizations who focus their efforts on creating a successful and sustainable community.

Grants will be awarded to organizations who prove to have a sensitivity to emerging needs, address existing needs in new and imaginative ways, have a direct impact on persons in need, and share in the ultimate goal of improving the quality of life in the Berkeley, Charleston and Dorchester Counties.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

Applications are accepted annually from organizations that serve people who live in Berkeley, Charleston and/ or Dorchester Counties; are fine arts organizations located in Georgetown County; are recognized by the I.R.S. as a non profit, being either a government agency, house of worship, or an organization exempt from income tax with a 501(c)(3) designation; are not a political or lobying organization; and does not discriminate on the basis of age, color, sexual orientation, national/ethnic origin or disability. Requests will be accepted from public and private schools only if the applicant can show evidenve of collaboration with another organization in the community, in both the program's development and access to services.
