Grants to Illinois nonprofit organizations, schools, faith-based organizations, and government entities to address needs of children and women in eligible regions. Applicants must submit a letter of inquiry prior to submitting a full proposal. Grant funds are intended to support programs and services primarily effecting positive mental health outcomes for women and children who reside in Sangamon and/or surrounding counties, including Cass, Christian, Logan, Macoupin, Menard, Morgan, and Montgomery.

Women for Women's 2020 grant(s) will be awarded to programs that address the most pressing issues facing local women and their families. Special consideration will be given to those programs that:

  • Are not duplicative or similar to those of other agencies;
  • Are collaborative with other agencies or entities; and
  • Have measurable results. 

Preference will be given to large, impactful grant requests, however, multiple awards may be granted.

Innovation, imagination and creativity will be considered in the evaluation process.

Up to $52,500 is available through the 2020 grant cycle.

Term of Contract:

Funding for multi-year grants may be available. Applicants will be offered the opportunity to apply for multi-year funding up to three years, however, grant funding for the second and third years will not exceed $30,000 per year.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

The submitting organization must be a:
• 501(c)(3) charitable organization, OR
• Faith-based organization (proposals must benefit all, regardless of religion, and be for a service provided which is not religious in nature), OR
• Public or private school (proposals must be for projects that exceed the school’s budget funding), OR
• Some government entities or municipalities may be eligible.

Grant awards will not be made to fund scholarship programs.

Important Dates:
- Deadline for the letter of inquiry is February 3, 2020 at 11:59 PM CST (Midnight).
- Charities will be notified by March 9, 2020 whether they are being invited to submit a full proposal.
- Deadline for full proposals is March 31, 2020.
- Final grant awards will be made at the May 5, 2020 Grant Reception.

Letters of inquiry will be accepted from all interested charities who meet the grant criteria. The Women for Women Grant Committee will review the letters of inquiry and invite selected charities to submit a full grant application.
