Communications: projects that enhance an organization’s understanding of or connection to its stakeholders or constituents. May include market/audience analysis; the implementation of marketing or public relations plans. The creation of a new website or the re-design of an existing website will also be considered as long as it’s guided by a clear marketing strategy.
Evaluation and Impact: improves an organization’s ability to collect and analyze information in order to improve programs, and inform management; improves an organization’s understanding of community needs; creates ongoing mechanisms for assessing internal and external factors affecting the delivery of high quality programming within the organization; first-time accreditation for private schools and health/human service agencies is allowed.
Fund Development: projects that increase and/or diversify sources of support; align resource development strategy with mission and future direction.
Internal Operations and Management: addresses the need for efficient and effective operating systems; may involve human resource management/training, financial systems, facility planning, or volunteer management.
Technology: technology requests should represent a new way of operating, or an opportunity to build substantial new capacity for an organization. Requests for computer replacements that are part of on-going operations are not competitive.
