Grants for $15,000 per year to encourage youth involvement in environmental conservation. Through this RFP a wide range of projects designed to educate, engage, and employ young people in the areas of environmental conservation will be funded. The primary objective of this program is to develop youth outreach programming designed to recruit young adults with a passion for natural resources and in particular, our national historic trails.

The awarded applicant will effectively recruit, interview, and train the selected youth. Basic job duties will consist of the development of a package of youth outreach opportunities. This package should include for example, exploiting social media to reach youth within the context of the protection and management of our national historic trails. The intern will also assist our trail partner and the BLM with defining trail preservation programs targeting youth and increasing youth support for the National Scenic and Historic Trails program.
