Grants to Incorporate Art into Education

Grants ranging from $500 - $1,000 for organizations that combine art and educational programs. The purpose of this funding is to support projects in Rhode Island in which artists and educators collaborate to create innovative curriculum, in which students are active participants. An example of a potential project may be an architect and a math teacher helping students learn about scale by reading and using rulers when building a scale model,or organizing a trip to the zoo to study symmetrical patterns as they relate to mathematics.
Funding may be used for stipends, materials, equipment, honorariums, and other costs associated with implementing the project. Proposals will be reviewed using the following criteria:
-Level of arts integration into core academic subject matter
-Innovation, creativeness and practicality of the project
-Educational merit and academic excellence
-Group size and impact on participating children and school
-Access to other funding sources
