Merk Family Fund
Grants for organizations that focus on strengthening the environment in several states across the United States. The mission of the Foundation is to create a healthy, sustainable planet for future generations. The Foundation will therefore fund proposals in the following three areas of interest; 1)energy efficiency 2)preservation of natural resources 3)recycling.
The Foundation is seeking proposals that provide incentives to institute energy efficient practices. For example, the Foundation welcomes proposals that advocate for residential and commercial standards that result in efficient energy use.
Secondly, the foundation will Fund proposals that protect natural resources through the creation of preservation policies. For example, programs that demonstrate community engagement and management of land, particularly concerning forestry and farming.
Thirdly, the Foundation will provide funding for programs that make paper production sustainable. For example, programs that assist major paper users and suppliers to adopt environmentally preferable paper practices.

Letters of inquiry may be submitted at any time. Email is preferred. The Fund\'s staff will review the letter and decide whether to invite a full proposal. Letters of inquiry are acknowledged as soon as possible.
Full proposals should be submitted electronically in PDF format no later than February 1, 2012 for spring review (May).
