Fellowships of up to $5,000 to Israel doctoral students and scientists for international research in a variety of fields. Funding is intended for travel and living expenses for short-term research at international laboratories in the fields of life sciences, exact sciences, and engineering. The researcher must return to his parent laboratory in Israel at the end of the grant period.

The Aharon and Ephraim Katzir Study Grants are intended to provide Israeli scientists an opportunity for the on-site study of research and work methods at leading laboratories around the world in the fields of the life sciences, exact sciences, and engineering, for a period of one to two months.

The evaluation of the request will take into account the quality of the candidate, the quality of the study program, and the quality of the host laboratory.

Estimated Size of Grant:

The fellowship is in the amount of up to $5,000 USD.

Term of Contract:

The fellowship is given to fund expenses for a period of one to two months.

Please submit requests only for advanced study programs due to take place in the year 2021.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

The fellowships are given to doctoral students from Israeli universities as well as to researchers holding PhD and MD degrees up to 5 years after receiving their degrees. Priority will be given to young researchers who do not have access to an education fund (Keren Hishtalmut).

Fellowship requests will not be accepted for selecting a place for postdoctoral work, participation in post-doctoral advanced study, conferences, workshops, and courses.

Pre-Application Information:

Applications must be submitted no later than June 25, 2020.

The request should include a letter of invitation/approval from the hosting laboratory. For a request submitted by a doctoral student, one letter of of recommendations should be from their supervisor.
