Request a Grant Writer

Grants of up to $500 and in-kind donations to California groups, individuals, and organizations for activities that promote the healthy development of young children in eligible regions. In addition to covering the event costs, applicants may request book donations. Events must take place in Shasta County.

Requests may be made for:

  1. Cash awards
  2. Cash plus children’s books, or
  3. Just children’s books

The Week of the Young Child (WOYC) is an annual celebration of young children that takes place every April in Shasta County and in communities across the nation. WOYC recognizes how the early years of childhood form a foundation for children’s success in school and in life. A new collection of events and activities is available each year for children, families, and all community members to enjoy.
