Grants are available for outdoor-focused charities in selected areas of Arizona for programs and projects that benefit community residents and encourage environmentally responsible behavior. The company funding the grant opportunities encourages outdoor exploration and education about the importance of preservation. Applicants will be rated based on their impact on the local outdoor environment and community, practicality and reach of the proposed project, and track-record of success of the organization. Applications will be reviewed by the Summit Hut Grant Team and narrowed down to five finalists based on its impact and reach in the Tucson/Southern Arizona community. The five finalists will each receive two tickets to the Banff Mountain Film Festival and be invited to set up an informational table at the event.
The five finalists will be judged by our customers from February 15th through March 15th. The winners of the $2,000 grants will be announced at the Banff Mountain Film Festival on Saturday, March 24th and Sunday March, 25th at the Fox Theatre, and the three runners-up will receive $250 Summit Hut gift cards to help in their programs.
