The Artemis Fund
Program-specific grants of up to $3,500 will be made to eligible Kentucky organizations for programs that support youth development. A wide range of programs serving the Louisville community that help improve children's futures and that emphasize the values of family, respect, and love will be considered for funding. Previously funded initiatives and projects include: classic book program for residents of an orphanage; supplies for an art therapy room; Big Brothers/Big Sisters mentoring children of prisoners program; playground equipment for special needs kids: program materials for new families of Down Syndrome organization; and other programs that support children as they attempt to better their future.
This fund was founded and is administered by local students. Serving as a trustee for The Artemis Fund enables students to learn the importance of philanthropy and develop the skills necessary to make it effective. Through the application of these skills, the trustees of The Artemis Fund support local organizations that encourage the development of youth and the growth of their fundamental values of love, family and respect. By serving this mission, they seek to strengthen the Greater Louisville Community.
