Non-profit organizations located in selected areas of California are eligible to apply for funding for programs and projects that benefit community residents. Areas of focus are open to any activity that positively impacts local residents and are not limited to any particular sector of society. Organizations may identify special needs in the community and tailor programs or services to a specific population based on those needs; however the programs must be open to all people in those targeted populations to be eligible for grant consideration.

The Burney Regional Fund is a community advised fund of the Shasta Regional Community Foundation, established to support needs within the communities in the greater Burney area. Grant criteria is as follows:

* Grants will be awarded to meet a broad range of needs within the community.
* It is the intent of these grants to be one-time grants. They will not be repeated for ongoing programmatic or operational purposes.
* Organizations with a grant report past due to the Community Foundation are not eligible to apply.
* Projects for which a grant is being sought should be completed within 12 months of grant receipt.
* Applicants are encouraged to identify their priority project and submit one proposal.
