Grants and in-kind support to Pennsylvania nonprofit organizations, schools, IHEs, and government agencies for innovative educational projects and services that benefit residents in eligible locations. Funding is intended to promote the development and implementation of school projects, with a focus on student development and achievement, community services for at-risk youth, and regional education services. Eligible applicants serve the residents of Chester and the surrounding counties.

The CCRES Board of Directors established the following funding priorities for 2020-2021 CCRES grants:

  1. Continuing Grants
  2. New Grants
    • Regional Education Services
    • Community Services for At-Risk Youth
    • School Projects Focusing on Student Development
    • School Projects Focusing on Student Achievement

The following types of grants may be awarded:

  • Capital (funding for construction or equipment)
  • Challenge (funder sets fundraising goal for grantseeker to reach; reward if met)
  • General Operating Support (funding for the general purpose of work of an organization including personnel, administration, and other expenses for an existing program)
  • Project/Program (funding for a specific initiative or new endeavor, not general operating support)
  • Seed (funding designed to help start a new project or charitable activity, or to help a new organization in its start-up phase)
  • Technology (funder donates technological equipment).

Estimated Size of Grant:

The typical funding range is $1,000 - $5,000. CCRES will consider larger requests if extenuating circumstances warrant.

Term of Contract:

The 2021-2022 funding cycle is for a period of performance from July 1, 2021, to June 30, 2022.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

CCRES only accepts grant proposals from organizations defined as:
- Educational (school districts and their schools, intermediate units, area vocational-technical schools, charter schools, non-public and private schools, higher education institutions, public libraries, and others)
- Governmental
- Tax-exempt (under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code).

CCRES is not presently considering inquiries from or for:
- For-profit organizations
- Individuals
- Endowments
- Fellowships
- Lobbying
- Political Action
- Programs outside of CCRES funding priorities

Pre-Application Information:

The deadline to apply is August 13, 2021, by 4:00 PM.

Grant awards will be finalized in September 2021 and notifications will be sent shortly after September 13, 2021

Matching funds, a specific dollar amount that the grantee or other outside party contributes to the project, are required.
