Grants of $500 will be awarded to Jewish Organizations in the US serving Jewish youth and young adults for educational programs and events that focus on the status and well being of women and girls in both the United States and Israel. The foundation's focuses include: Leadership/Self-esteem for Adolescent Girls, Young Women, and their Mentors; Economic Security for Women and/or Girls; Elevating the Economic and Social Status of Women in Israel.
Leadership/Self-esteem for Adolescent Girls, Young Women, and their Mentors
-Programs and events that encourage self-confidence, leadership skills, and healthy lifestyle choices among adolescent girls and young women in the Jewish community and/or build awareness among influential adults in their lives such as parents, teachers, and other mentors;
Economic Security for Women and/or Girls
-Programs and events that help young women and/or girls in the Jewish community achieve economic security including, but not limited to, training in personal financial planning and budgeting and understanding legal rights related to economic matters;
Elevating the Economic and Social Status of Women in Israel
-Programs and events that raise awareness about the organizations that are working to create economic and social equality for women of all backgrounds in Israel. This might include legal and policy advocacy initiatives, and economic development programs that target women, including women from the Israeli Arab, Bedouin, Orthodox, and Mizrachi communities.
The Foundation is especially interested in proposals that will help broaden awareness about programs that they have already funded.
The mini grant may be used to fund the following: speaker/faculty honorarium, speaker/faculty travel; food/(non-alcoholic) refreshments for participants and speakers/faculty; purchase/copying/rental of program materials; rental costs of equipment needed for program/event (e.g. LCD projector); advertising and other publicity; and postage/shipping.

-Applicants, or their fiscal sponsors, must be tax exempt under Section 501 (c) (3) of the Internal Revenue Code.
-Limited to U.S.-based:
Jewish student groups at colleges and universities (e.g. local Hillels, local chapters of historically Jewish sororities/fraternities)
Jewish day schools (for programs serving youth in grades 7-12)
Jewish supplemental/complimentary educational programs serving youth in grades 7-12
Jewish youth groups (local and regional chapters only, serving youth in grades 7-12)
Individual Jewish summer camps (for programs serving youth at least 12 years old)
Individual Jewish community centers with dedicated Jewish programming for students in grades 7-12
Other local program that specifically target and serve Jewish youth and young adults ages 12-28
Mini grant recipients will be notified by mid-June 2012.
