These awards are for the "unsung" community leaders of all ages. Members of the greater Washington community play a critical role in spotting and raising awareness of the region’s unsung community leaders. Community members can nominate an outstanding leader before July 20, 2012.

Each award recipient will receive an unrestricted cash award of $2,000 and an additional $3,000 to be contributed to a local nonprofit community organization of their choice. The nonprofit award will be distributed immediately.
