Grants of up to $10,000 to Western Washington Jewish nonprofit organizations to enhance the lives of girls and women throughout the region. Funding is intended to support programs that advance social change through women's empowerment. Eligible programs must be ongoing programs of applicant organizations and serve a minimum of 15 participants each year.

Estimated Size of Grant:

Grants are capped at a maximum request of $10,000 total for the two-year period.

Term of Contract:

The grant operates on a two-year cycle. Fiscal years begin on July 1 and end on June 30 the following year.

Contracts are for two years. Funding for the second year will not be awarded until the organization completes and submits a program evaluation form indicating that the funds have been properly used and that the program plans to run as initially presented to the Special Initiatives Fund Committee.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

Any Jewish organization in Western Washington that is a 501(c)(3), fiscally sponsored, or is presumed to be according to IRS regulations (e.g. synagogues), is eligible to apply. Each organization must provide a copy of its 501(c)(3) letter or sponsoring nonprofit’s 501(c)(3) letter with the application.

Jewish non-profit organizations outside of Western Washington, but within the state of Washington, may still be eligible if they are able to demonstrate that they serve a significant Jewish population from Western Washington.

Organizations are required to have been in operation for a minimum of two full fiscal years by January 2021 to be eligible.

The program must be an ongoing program of the organization that has run for at least one full fiscal year and be guaranteed to continue for the two-year duration of the grant.

Capital funding proposals will not be accepted.

Pre-Application Information:

The Women's Endowment Fund Grants open Tuesday, January 19, 2021.

Grant applications submitted by the priority due date of Friday, February 12, 2021, at 3 pm PST will be reviewed by the Federation for completeness ONLY and those applicants will have the opportunity to provide additional information before the final deadline.

The final deadline for grant applications is Friday, February 19, 2021, at 3 pm PST. Incomplete applications will not be considered if they are received after the priority due date of February 12, 2021.

Organizations may only request funding for one program per grant cycle.
