Grants of up to $10,000 will be awarded in the Chicago metro area and Northwestern Indiana to grassroots groups working for social and economic justice. Funding is provided for general operating, start up costs, or project expenses. Grants of up to $3,000 will be awarded for technical assistance to smaller organizations. All applicants must meet the following criteria to be considered for funding: Working for Social Change, Cross-Issue Organizing, Grassroots Leadership, and Solid Plan.

-Chicago area organizations with annual expenses under $300,000 that have been in operation for at least three years and that meet Crossroads Fund's Funding Criteria. Priority is given to organizations that have been funded by Crossroads Fund in the last two years.
-Groups without 501(c)(3) status may apply as long as they have a fiscal sponsor or organizational bank account.
-Organizations rooted in Northwestern Indiana are also eligible.
