Grants of up to $2,500 will be awarded in Maine to non-profit organizations to positively impact the greater Brunswick community. Funds are intended for current programs as well as funding new initiatives. These grants are awarded by a group of college students interested in learning about the non-profit sector and philanthropy.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

Any registered, equal opportunity non-profit organization located within 20 miles of Brunswick that serves the greater Brunswick area (Bath, Bowdoin, Bowdoinham, Brunswick, Durham, Freeport, Georgetown, Harpswell, Lewiston, Lisbon, Lisbon Falls, Phippsburg, Richmond, Topsham, Wiscasset, Woolwich, and Yarmouth).

Organizations that received a grant from the Common Good Grant Committee last year, or who have received a total of three within the last eight years.

Pre-proposal Conference:

A free, optional grant-writing workshop provided by the College for organizations interested in applying for the Common Good Grant will be held on Friday, January 11, 2013 from 1:00 to 4:00 pm in Lancaster Lounge in Moulton Union on the Bowdoin campus.

This is an informational workshop and participation has no bearing on grant decisions. Participants should bring a one-page sample or draft to the workshop.

Pre-Application Information:

-During the week of February 25, all applicants will be told whether or not their grant application has progressed to the final round.
-The finalists will be notified of funding decisions on or before Tuesday, April 2. Final grants will be awarded on Tuesday, April 9, at Bowdoin’s Common Good Grant Awards Ceremony.
