Grants to Denver Area, Colorado nonprofit organizations and government agencies to benefit local residents in the areas of arts, cultural history, visual arts, natural history, and natural sciences. The primary purpose of this fund is to enlighten and entertain the general public through productions, presentations, exhibitions, and preservation activities.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

Eligible applicants are agencies of local government and nonprofit 501(c)(3) organizations whose:
-Primary purpose is for enlightening and entertaining the public through the production, presentation, exhibition, advancement or preservation of visual arts, performing arts, cultural history, natural history, or natural sciences; 
-Has a principal office within the district; 
-Conducts the majority of its activities within the state of Colorado; and
-Principally benefits the residents of the district.

The Denver Area includes the following counties: Adams, Arapahoe, Boulder, Broomfield, Denver, and Douglas.

Pre-proposal Conference:

The Eligibility Open House is scheduled for Wednesday, August 8, 2018, 4:00-6:00 pm at Blair Caldwell African American Research Library, 2401 Welton St. Denver, CO 80205.

The SCFD staff will be on-hand to go over the eligibility process and requirements. You can bring your in-progress application to have your questions answered by staff.

Attending the Eligibility Open House is not a requirement in the eligibility process. This event is to help your organization better understand the requirements for eligibility to receive SCFD funding, how your organization may comply with this, and any questions staff can answer about the application. One-on-one meetings with staff members are offered on a first-come-first-serve basis.

Pre-Application Information:

An eligibility application (including all attachments in numerical order) must be submitted using the online grants management system. Eligibility applications must be received by 5:00 pm on Friday, September 7, 2018 in order for an eligibility determination to be made prior to the following grant cycle. Late and/or incomplete applications will not be reviewed. An applicant organization will be notified by mail if its application is incomplete and will have the opportunity to submit a complete application the following year.

Organizations currently funded by SCFD do not need to reapply for eligibility.

Applicants with complete applications will receive notification of their eligibility determination by mail after SCFD has conducted a thorough review of the organization. Eligibility confirmation may take anywhere from a few weeks to several months depending on the complexity of the organization and the volume of other requests the SCFD is processing.
