Mini-grants of up to $5,000 will be awarded in Massachusetts to Lowell-based organizations for collaborative, grassroots marketing projects. Funds are intended for marketing that will build a positive message about Lowell as an authentic urban community with a rich cultural and creative community, an entrepreneurial spirit, and a national reputation for downtown revitalization and historic preservation. Therefore, all funded projects are required to tie messaging back to something beyond individual promotion of the organization.
Grants may be used for: Marketing campaigns for an event; Strengthening a marketing program for an organization; Expanding social media campaigns; and Broadening audience outreach.
Website creation or updates
Hiring staff that is not connected to a marketing product
Marketing efforts that do not tie back to the City of Lowell
