Awards to honor international individual adults and youth whose work on behalf of children has made an extraordinary impact. Cash grants of at least $25,000 will accompany each award for the award winner's sustainable program for vulnerable children. There are three award categories available:

(1) Humanitarian Awards of at least $50,000 are made to recognize an individual who has made a significant contribution to children in the areas of social services, education or humanitarian services. Nominees must have created, managed, or otherwise supported a sustainable program which has significantly contributed to children’s opportunities to be safe, learn, and grow. Nominees must do this work over and above their normal employment, or work for little or no pay. Nominee must have been doing this work for a minimum of 10 years. Nominees must have an existing non-profit organization in good standing that can receive grant funds if awarded.

(2) Health Awards of at least $50,000 are made to recognize an individual who has made a significant contribution to children in the fields of health, medicine, or the sciences. Nominees must have created, managed, or otherwise supported a sustainable program which has significantly contributed to the improved health of children. Nominees must do this work over and above their normal employment, or work for little or no pay. Nominees must have been doing this work for a minimum of 10 years. Nominees must have an existing non-profit organization in good standing, that can receive grant funds if awarded.

(3) Youth Awards of at least $25,000 will recognize youth that are making extraordinary contributions to the lives of other children. Nominees must be under the age of 21 by the nomination submission deadline. Nominees must have an existing non-profit organization in good standing, that can receive grant funds if Awarded. Nominees must have been doing this work for a minimum of three years by the nomination submission deadline of April 1, 2013.

At least $25,000 for Youth Awards; At least $50,000 for Health Awards & Humanitarian Awards.

* Nominees must have full knowledge that they are being nominated. (It is strongly recommended that the person you are nominating and the related organization assist you in completing the nomination form.)
* Nominees must be available to participate in the Annual Award Ceremonies held in New York City, USA. (Travel and accommodations will be arranged and paid for by the World of Children Award.)
* Nominees must be nominated for one Award only. Individuals submitted for multiple categories will be disqualified.
* Nominee must have an existing non-profit organization in good standing, that can receive grant funds if Awarded.
* Adult Nominees must do this work over and above their normal employment OR work for little or no pay.
* Adult Nominees must have been doing this work for a minimum of 10 years.
* Youth Nominees can be nominated for the Youth Award only, and must be under the age of 21 by the nomination submission deadline to be eligible.

The World of Children Award excludes any work designed to specifically advance any one religion or political position. The Board of Governors of the World of Children Award reserves the right to exclude nominations it deems to be religious or political in nature.
