Grants averaging $1,500 to Texas nonprofit organizations and governmental entities for short-term and emergency needs in eligible regions. Priority is given to emergency needs, with funding also available for capital improvements, equipment, training or education including travel expenses, programs to promote volunteerism, and unexpected budgetary expenses. Programs must serve the residents of the Lubbock area including the counties of Crosby, Floyd, Garza, Hale, Hockley, Lamb, Lubbock, Lynn, and Terry.

Estimated Size of Grant:

There is no minimum or maximum request. However, the average amount awarded to an agency is approximately $1,500.

Term of Contract:

Approved expenses must have been incurred between October 1, 2019 and March 1, 2020.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

Proof of one of the following must be submitted with the application:
a. 501(c)(3) IRS status
b. Application for 501(c)(3) status
c. Umbrella 501(c)(3) status, or
d. Governmental entity status

Agencies must have a local community-based board.

No agency will be considered for funding if Community Assistance Grant funds have been received in the twelve (12) months prior to the submission deadline.

Requests shall not be considered for:
a. Fundraising drives
b. Capital campaigns
c. Political campaigns
d. Religious projects
e. Individuals.

The proposed request should not require direct participation from JLL members.

Pre-Application Information:

Applications for the Spring 2020 cycle must be received by March 13, 2020. The Spring Community Assistance Grant monies will be awarded on or before May 15, 2020.
