Matching grants of up to $10,000 to USA nonprofits and government units operating youth baseball or softball programs in eligible midwest states for major field renovations. Applicants in Missouri, Kansas, Nebraska, Iowa, Oklahoma, Arkansas, and South Dakota may apply.

Fields must be used primarily for youth. Major renovations include the upgrading of essential baseball field components including:

- New sod
- Infield
- Fencing
- Dugouts

Estimated Size of Grant:

The average matching grant awarded is $5,000 to $10,000. Organizations must prove that they have secured funding (monetary and/or in-kind support) in order to receive matching funds. Organizations that have not secured funding may apply for a matching funds grant but should expect to receive a Royalty Fields grant award only in the amount that has been raised by the applicant organization (if the application is approved by the Royals Charities Board of Directors.)

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

The program is open to any independent Midwest, 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization or local government unit that operates a youth baseball and/or softball program in Missouri, Kansas, Nebraska, Iowa, Oklahoma, Arkansas, or South Dakota.

Not funded:
- Lights
- Bleachers/grandstands
- Restrooms
- Scoreboards
- Routine maintenance
- Equipment

Pre-Application Information:

- Spring: March 1, 2018, 5:00 PM CT - Grant recipients will be notified no later than May 18, 2018.
- Fall: October 1, 2018, 5:00 PM CT - Grant recipients will be notified no later than December 14, 2018.

Once the application is received and reviewed, Royals Charities may call to schedule a site visit. In addition, Royals Charities may schedule a follow-up site visit once funding has been awarded and a project is completed.
