Grants of up to $25,000 to Louisiana non-profit organizations, government entities, and faith-based community groups working to encourage Central Louisiana residents to engage in increased physical activity and healthier eating. Funding is intended to be used to create, improve, or repair physical-activity settings, such as walking trails, playgrounds or exercise stations, or for healthy food settings, such as farmers markets or community gardens.
Ultimately, the goal of these grants is to promote a healthier, more nutritious lifestyle for the residents of Allen, Avoyelles, Catahoula, Grant, LaSalle, Natchitoches, Rapides, Vernon, and Winn parishes.
