Grants ranging from $500 to $2,500 to Sonoma County, California artists and arts organizations that produce or present new artistic works such as projects, events, festivals and programs that effectively increase accessibility to an art form. These grants are intended to help artists and organizations explore innovative ways of expanding participation and engagement in the arts in Sonoma County.

Successful proposals will demonstrate the potential to reach and engage a new or expanded audience, in particular those whose opportunities to experience the arts are limited by geography, ethnicity, economics or disability.

Funding may be used for:
* Fees that directly relate to the proposed project (space rentals, permits, etc.)
* Salaries or wages that directly relate to the proposed project
* Marketing/promotional expenses that directly relate to the proposed project
* Project supplies or materials

Estimated Size of Grant:

Available grants will range from $500 to $2,500.

Term of Contract:

Projects must be completed within the grant period: July 1, 2013 - June 30, 2014.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

Applicants must:
* be an arts organization or an artist living and presenting in Sonoma County.
* have a 501(c)(3) status, or a fiscal sponsor. (Note: When using a fiscal sponsor, the sponsoring organization is required to submit the application.)

Artists or arts organizations from all artistic disciplines can apply.

Pre-proposal Conference:

There will be an introductory workshop on Friday, April 26th at 10:00am at Finley Center's Willow Room. RSVP to Karen Demarest at: kdemarest@sonomacf.org.

Pre-Application Information:

Community Foundation Sonoma County uses an online process for submitting grant applications. If this is your first application using the online program, you will be asked to set up an account, provide your IRS Tax ID (or Fiscal Sponsor Tax ID) and take a short eligibility quiz.

IF you have an established account, you will be asked for your password to either access existing application drafts or to open a new application.

Once you've opened an online account, you will be asked a series of questions that include your contact information, funding request amount, project start and end date and a series of narrative questions about the project. Applicants are encourage to review the narrative questions (at: http://www.sonomacf.org/pdf/Small_Grants_Arts_Narrative_Questions_2013.pdf) prior to completing the online application.
