Grants will be awarded in Maryland to Baltimore-based community groups for projects that create a healthier and more attractive neighborhood through greening activities. Funds may be requested for: park and recreation center maintenance and enhancement projects; projects that will improve the health and cleanliness of local waterways; and greening projects for neighborhoods.
Engage volunteers in project development, implementation and maintenance;
Build leadership within the community;
Include a clear and logical plan for maintenance and sustainability;
Benefit the community and the physical environment; and
Occur in a neighborhood with a need for financial assistance for the project proposed.
-Private contractors with the exception of one-time services that exceed the capacity of the group
