In-kind grants and monetary grants of up to $4,000 to Franklin County, Ohio nonprofit organizations for projects to create and maintain community gardens, nontraditional gardens, or greenspaces. Successful projects should include neighborhood resident participation, demonstrate positive, measurable outcomes and meet stated objectives.
Applicants may request support for activities such as the following:
- Produce for farmers’ markets
- School gardens
- Therapeutic gardens
- Beautification efforts
Funding and/or in-kind support may be awarded to new and existing gardens and greenspaces.

Grant requests may not exceed $4,000. A portion of each grant award may be in the form of an in-kind contribution from The Scotts Miracle-Gro Company.
Grant funds will be awarded for projects taking place in 2018.
The fund welcomes applications from organizations that are recognized under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code or those that have a fiscal sponsor.
Gardens must have a primary impact in Franklin County.
Funding must be for a project beginning in the upcoming growing season.
A Grants Information Session will be held on September 15, 2017 from 9:00 to 10:30 AM. This session will include information about how to use the online application system to apply for grants.

Applications must be submitted online by 11:59 PM on Friday, September 29, 2017.
Awards will be announced after November 13, 2017.
