Grants to Virginia nonprofit organizations and agencies for programs to enhance the quality of life for local residents in eligible locations. Areas of focus include health and wellness, community vibrancy, educational success, and economic prosperity. Funding is intended for applicants providing programs that directly impact Mathews County.

The Foundation focuses on four areas of community life that are most likely to produce positive and lasting change in the area served by MCF. The Foundation works closely with its grantees to advance these goals:

In some cases, MCF may take a more proactive approach to address important community issues. The Foundation will seek to identify community initiatives that advance solutions to the community’s greatest challenges using innovative strategies and a collaborative spirit. The Foundation encourages grant requests that are innovative, collaborative, measurable, and sustainable.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

Grants are available to eligible 501(c)3 nonprofit organizations and agencies providing programs that directly impact Mathews County and improve the quality of life for its residents.

Proposals are accepted from 501(c)(3) charitable organizations serving Mathews County.

Pre-Application Information:

Grant applications are due by 4:30 pm, the first Monday in March.

Grant announcements are made in May.

Grants typically range from $1,000 to $10,000. Occasionally, a limited number of projects receive grants in excess of the current guidelines.
