Grants of up to $10,000 to Iowa nonprofit organizations and government entities to enhance the quality of life in eligible communities. Funding may be used for operating costs, capital projects, activities, and general programmatic support in the focus areas of environmental quality, life learning, health and fitness, and community development. Projects must benefit the residents of Mitchell County.
The FEMC looks for projects that address significant community issues; present innovative, creative, and practical proposals which build on community strengths; develop the leadership potential of the community; involve the people served in the planning and implementation of the program; provide a plan for sustainability beyond the funding period; and capital projects that impact a significant number of county residents.
