Grants of up to $3,000 to USA and international non-profit organizations that provide innovative, high-quality conservation and science programs worldwide. Priority is given to proposals that demonstrate a measurable, common-sense approach to conservation and science issues, appropriate research methodologies, effective knowledge sharing and capacity building strategies, ex situ support of in situ conservation, and active involvement of local communities.

The Phoenix Zoo Conservation and Science Grants are small grants intended to provide seed money or to fund critical components of conservation programs.

Estimated Size of Grant:

Grant requests must not exceed $3,000 per award.

Term of Contract:

Phoenix Zoo Conservation and Science Grants are for one year of project support only. If you are interested in support for a multi-year program, please present a request for a one-year component of the larger program.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

ACNC/Phoenix Zoo Conservation & Science Grant funds may not be used to support the following costs:
- Institutional/organizational overhead
- Tuition, fees, or fringe benefits
- Salaries for staff appointed to regular, full-time positions
- Travel not associated with project activities (e.g., travel to conferences where results will be presented)

Pre-Application Information:

Timeline
Pre-proposals will be accepted from August 1 to September 1, 2018. Applicants will be notified by November 1 if they are invited to submit a full proposal and will receive further instructions at that time. Preproposals received after 5:00 p.m. September 1 will not be considered.

Interested parties should submit a pre-proposal via e-mail.

Full proposals are due on December 1, 2018. Award notifications will be sent out in February 2019. Awards will usually be announced in January the following year.
