Grants ranging from $250 to $1,000 to Chicago, Illinois non-profit agencies that are seeking financial assistance to plan family-friendly community service events on or around this coming Martin Luther King Day. These grants are intended to turn Martin Luther King Day into a day to inspire, equip, and mobilize youth to take action and create positive change in their communities.

In addition to grant funding, HandsOn Suburban Chicago will also provide training and support to agencies in developing and executing their projects. All agencies that apply will be eligible for a free consultation session on developing youth volunteer programs, regardless of whether they are selected for grant funding.

The funding levels for these grants are as follows:
$1,000: For non-profits that engage a minimum of 100 volunteers, (at least 50 must be 18 or younger)
$500: For non-profits that engage a minimum of 50 volunteers (at least 20 must be 18 or younger)
$250: For non-profits that engage a minimum of 25 volunteers (at least 10 must be 18 or younger)

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

Grants are open to all 501(c)(3) non-profit agencies, but preference will be given to current HandsOn Suburban Chicago community partners.

Please Note: An applicant organization must serve communities located within the HandsOn Suburban Chicago service area (see attached map below). Your organization may be located outside the boundaries of the HOSC service area, as long as it serves communities within that service area.
