Grants to North Carolina non-profit organizations that provide quality programs, projects, and/or services in the areas of education, health, human services, and the arts, culture, and the humanities. Proposed activities must have a measurable impact on the residents of Mitchell County and, upon special consideration, the surrounding areas of western North Carolina.

The Foundation normally does not fund requests for:
* Annual appeals or membership drives
* Unrestricted endowment funds
* Operating expenses of established organizations
* Debt retirement of established organizations supported by the United Way
* Grants to individuals
* Recurring grants

Note: All applicants must have the financial ability to sustain the funded program or project on a continuing basis.

Please collate five (5) complete sets of your grant materials in the following order:
* Optional cover letter
* Signed grant application form* (attached below)
* Optional detail regarding project (up to two pages)
* Project budget spreadsheet*
* Optional detail regarding organization (up to two pages)
* A list of board members*
* Copy of organization’s tax exemption letter from the Internal Revenue Service*
* Financial statement (audited if available) for the most recent complete fiscal year*
* Optional brochures or other printed material regarding the organization or the grant project
