Grants to Missouri nonprofit organizations, agencies, and schools for health and wellness programs benefiting residents in eligible locations. Applicants must submit a concept paper prior to submitting a full application. Programs that are collaborative in nature and address a top identified health need are of high priority. Funding is intended for programs serving residents of Stone and/or Taney County.

Priority will be given to programs that are collaborative and address a top-identified health need. These include: 

  • Access to care
  • Child and family safety
  • Dental care
  • Mental health
  • Healthy lifestyle
  • Substance abuse

Priority will be given to collaborative initiatives that address dental care, substance abuse/tobacco, unhealthy body weight, mental health, child and family safety, improved access to care and community health workers.

Estimated Size of Grant:

The award floor is $5,001 and there is no award ceiling.

Term of Contract:

The grant year runs Dec. 1 through Nov. 30 of the following year.

Requests can be made for up to a three-year period although funding is committed for one year at a time. Future funding is contingent upon program results and funding availability.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

Any non-profit charity, school, or government organization may apply for a grant.

Eligible applicants must be non-profit with current proof of 501(c)3 status, a school or a governmental agency.

Small agencies, organizations without a 501c3 designation, or a coalition may apply with a fiscal agent.

Pre-Application Information:

2022 Application Schedule:
- Early February 2022: Skaggs Foundation will begin accepting applications for 2022-23 grant cycle
- April 29, 2022: Concept Papers for Priority Health Needs and Helping Hands Grant Applications due by 5 p.m.
- Late May 2022: Agencies with Concept Papers will be notified of invitation to submit full application OR denial
- June 1, 2022: Interview for agencies applying for full application
- July 29, 2022: Full applications due by 5 p.m. from agencies applying for Priority Health Needs grants
- Mid September 2022: Agencies notified of final decisions (Priority Health Needs and Helping Hands)
- October/November 2022: Awards Ceremony
- November 15, 2022: First Disbursement of funds
