Grants of up to $200 to British Columbia youth groups, community organizations, and schools for tobacco use interventions in Aboriginal communities throughout the Southern Interior region. This program aims to reduce tobacco use and help people suffering from addiction in ways that are respectful of Aboriginal traditions and ceremonial use.

To be eligible every project should meet the following criteria:
-Target children, youth and/or adults within Interior Health
-Utilize Evidence-Based Programs
-Agree to submit the Evaluation Form at the end of the project

Grantees are encouraged to:
-Utilize qualified leaders
-Incorporate peer leadership
-Not shame or stigmatize tobacco users or their families
-Ensure confidentiality of participants
-Ensure healthy food choices in your project

Grants of up to $200 are available.

Grants are made to schools, youth groups, and community organizations throughout BC's Southern Interior.

Funds may not be used for staff wages

Aboriginal communities, schools and programs are invited to submit an application to the Mini Grant Program by contacting Jeff Conners, Tobacco Reduction Coordinator (details below).

Applications are accepted throughout the year and processed on a first come first serve basis. You will receive approval within one to two weeks, but please allow 6 weeks for grant money to be received.
