South Country Education Foundation, Inc.
Grants totaling $5,000 to New York teachers of grades Pre-K through twelve who are seeking financial assistance to pursue innovative activities and/or experiences that will enhance and improve their professional skills. Examples of eligible activities that teachers may participate in include: summer institutes, foreign study, or regional, national, or international conferences to name a few possibilities.
The ultimate goal of these grants is to improve educational opportunities for all students in the South Country Central School District.
Grant funds may be used for fees, travel expenses, books, or other materials that enable applicants to learn subject matter, instructional approaches, and/or to develop their skills. Grant recipients are required to share their experiences with their fellow educators and administrators in their schools, as well as with members of SCEF and the community.
SCEF professional development grants may not be used to:
• Pursue a degree.
• Pay salaries, stipends, or grant administration fees.
• Pay registration fees or travel expenses for more than one person.

These grants will fund activities for calendar year 2014.
These grants will be given only to individual Pre-K through twelfth grade teachers who are employed by the South Country Central School District.

The application is to be submitted to SCEF, Inc. PO Box 512, Bellport, NY 11713 in triplicate, and postmarked no later than January 24, 2014.
In an effort to reach as many teachers in the District as possible, the Foundation asks that only teachers who have not received a professional development grant to date apply for this year’s grant.
