Request a Grant Writer

Grants of up to $2,000 to local New York non-profit institutions, professional school staff, and students seeking funds for a broad range of projects, initiatives, and/or equipment purchases that will enhance student and teacher success. Grant applications will be considered only where funding is beyond that which the South Country Board of Education would ordinarily have the power to fund.

Funding is intended to support: curriculum development, creative teaching initiatives, educational equipment, specific projects/independent study, fellowships, teacher recognition, special assemblies/guest speakers, exchange program sponsorships, visiting artists/authors, and artists/academicians in residence.

SCEF encourages creative and innovative initiatives/grants.

Projects must be completed before June 11, 2014.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

Non-profit institutions, professional school staff, and students within the South Country Central School District are eligible.

Pre-Application Information:

Please note the following:
- A non-profit institution making an application must be acting on behalf of the South Country Education School District school age population (Grades K-12).

- Teachers/Staff of South Country Schools: The Interim Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum, Instruction, and Technology, Ms. Margaret Evers, must review all applications prior to their submittal to SCEF. Please have your completed application reviewed and initialed by Ms. Evers at least two weeks prior to the due date of Jan. 24, 2014.

Applications are due by Jan. 24, 2014. Applications postmarked after the submission due date will not be considered. If convenient, you may reproduce the application on your computer for completion, but all applications must be sent to the above mailing address. Please be concise in your preparation and limit supporting documentation to material specific to your project.

Applicants will be notified by Feb. 28, 2014 if they have been selected as a recipient.

There will be a reception for all grant recipients in June 2014 and you will be notified of the location.
