Grants to Colorado nonprofit organizations and community programs to benefit local residents in eligible locations. Areas of focus include children, youth, and financial stability. Programs should primarily serve at-risk, low-income residents. Funding is intended to benefit Routt County.

2021 RCUW Community Impact Goals:

  • Give children a strong start (birth to 8 years of age): RCUW funds programs that improve developmental opportunities for lower-income, at-risk children. 
  • Provide youth a safe, healthy, and nurturing environment (9-17 years of age): RCUW seeks to fund programs and initiatives that will support the successful transition of elementary school students into middle school, of middle school students into high school, and of high school students into adulthood. 
  • Improve the financial stability of all Routt County residents in need  (families and adults 18 years and older) - Programs that seek to achieve the following will be considered:
    • Build financial skills and social/emotional resiliency through adult education or counselling in such areas as household financial management, mental health and well-being, suicide prevention, family relationships, or workplace readiness
    • Reduce food insecurity
    • Enable seniors to live in their homes longer if they wish
    • Prevent domestic violence or abuse
    • Improve family stability

Estimated Size of Grant:

- Community Programs are limited to an annual funding request from RCUW in an amount not exceeding $1,000.
- Non-profit organizations do not have a dollar limitation on the amount they can ask for their program.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

Nonprofit Organization Application: Non-profit organizations must be tax exempt, provide services to Routt County residents that fulfill a human service need in support of one of RCUW’s community impact goals, and meet other key considerations.

Community Program Application: Community Programs must provide services to help lower-income Routt County residents to develop their potential or to meet their basic needs and align with one of RCUW’s community impact goals.

RCUW does not fund general operations or capital equipment at this time.
