Grants of up to $3,000 to local Illinois public schools proposing innovative, effective, and high-quality projects and/or programs that will enhance the arts and/or literacy education of students in grades kindergarten through eight within the Evanston-Skokie Community Consolidated School District. Through focused arts- and literacy-based programs, Foundation 65 strives to:
- Promote active student participation.
- Complement District 65 arts and literacy goals.
- Support students during key transition years.
Foundation 65 gives priority consideration to funding programs that support one or more of the following:
- Community engagement as part of implementation.
- All kids and all schools, or the potential to support all kids and all schools over time.
- Exploring multiple-school and multiple-teacher collaborations.
- Exploring possibilities of replicable programming.
- Reaching out to families and the community for their involvement in arts/literacy projects.
- Linking literacy and the arts.

All grant recipients will be required to utilize grant monies within one (1) year of their award.
