Grants ranging from $500 to $1,000 to Amenia, New York students, teachers, administrators, community members, and community nonprofit organizations in the eligible school district for projects that enrich the educational experiences of teachers and students, and strengthen their abilities to achieve excellence both in school and in the community.

The Webutuck Quest for Excellence Fund is an endowed fund whose purpose is to support efforts in the Webutuck Central School District that: create a culture where academics are respected; cultivate an atmosphere of high expectations of achievement; encourage student initiative, creative thinking and innovation; and inspire a love of learning.

Possible projects include, but are not limited to: independent study, new programs; extracurricular activities, individual creative projects in or outside the classroom, visiting speakers, artists-in-residence; professional development for teachers that will directly impact a broader number of individuals, library resources, and class field trips.

Grants awarded will generally range from $500 to $1,000.

Projects must be completed by the end of the school year.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

Proposals are accepted from teachers, students, administrators, community members, or community nonprofits to enhance and enrich educational opportunities for students and teachers of the Webutuck Central School District.

Grants from the Fund will not replace public dollars for the school district. Quest seeks primarily to help cover the direct costs of projects (not salaries) and provide learning experiences for students rather than the purchase of equipment.

Berkshire Taconic does not support organizations which in their constitution, by-laws, or practice, discriminate against a person or group on the basis of age, race, national origin, ethnicity, gender, disability, sexual orientation, political affiliation or religious belief.

The application deadline is January 20, 2018 by 11:59pm (EST).

You will be notified by email if your organization received full or partial funding or in some cases, if funding has been denied. Decisions are typically made within 6-8 weeks after the application deadline.
