Request a Grant Writer

Grants of up to $10,000 to Arizona nonprofit organizations in eligible areas to enhance the quality of life for local residents. Funding is intended to support nonprofits that offer direct services to City residents. Grants may be used for programs, events, or activities that improve the health and welfare of the local community. Eligible projects take place within the city limits of Surprise and must be open to the public.

Grant requests can be made for $10,000 or less.

Term of Contract:

Receipt of an award does not guarantee continued support in subsequent years.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

Applicants must provide 501(c) 3 verification, or partner with a 501(c)3 agency.

Applicants must have enhancement of community lifestyle as their primary mission.

All applicants agree by accepting the award that all activities surrounding the function will be open to all members of the public and no person shall be denied access to, or participation in, the events on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex, religion, or disability.

Eligibility:
1. Applicants must provide direct services which improve the health and welfare of Surprise residents.
2. Applicants that received previous funding must be current in their reporting and have submitted timely and accurate reports.
3. Applicants must demonstrate the ability to generate revenue from other sources.

Pre-proposal Conference:

A non-mandatory virtual pre-application meeting will be available to all applicants on Thursday, August 6, 2020, at 2:00 PM. This meeting will include information about the community outreach program and application process.

Pre-Application Information:

Applications for FY2020-2021 will be accepted until Monday, August 31, 2020, by 5:00 PM.

Funds are provided on a reimbursement basis; no upfront monies will be distributed.
