Grants of up to $1,000 to Smyth County, Virginia teachers and groups of teachers who are seeking financial support to implement innovative projects, programs, and/or activities that will improve student success. These grants will fund creative proposals that focus on project-based, hands-on learning, and priority will be given to projects with a STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, or Math) focus.

Grants will be distributed to the General Fund of the school of each recipient to be spent by the successful applicant on the designated project.

Two grants of up to $1,000 and two grants of up to $500 will be made.

Term of Contract:

Project funds must be spent by the end of the 2013–2014 school year.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

The applicant must be a teacher or group of teachers employed by Smyth County Schools.
