Grant Description
Grants of $10,000 to British Columbia nonprofit arts and cultural organizations and individual artists for large-scale performances, projects, artistic works, and events that benefit residents in eligible locations. Funding is intended for activities that demonstrate engagement with the local community. Projects must take place in the Columbia Basin Trust region.

Major Project Arts projects should demonstrate community engagement within the Basin as an aspect of the project (for example, mentoring opportunities, public readings, lectures, performances, or exhibitions). Community engagement (audience and locations) is taken into consideration when adjudicating.

Additional Eligibility Criteria
Funding is available to individual artists in all disciplines, or arts and culture groups and organizations.

In general, the aim of the CKCA Major Project Arts & Culture fund is to meet community rather than private sector needs. Any proposals submitted by private sector organizations (example: a registered business) must be sponsored by a non-profit community organization (who would make the application) and must clearly demonstrate community benefits.

Applicants should demonstrate the experience and ability to successfully complete the project as proposed.

Capital expenses may be included in the application budget up to a total of 20% of the amount requested from CKCA.
