Grants ranging from $20,000 to $25,000 to Greater Boston, Massachusetts organizations for programs that positively impact the lives of economically disadvantaged teen girls and women. Letters of inquiry must be submitted electronically by Friday, January 12, 2018. The funding source aims to support socially at-risk teen girls and women in the area which extends from Boston out to the I-495 corridor.
Womenade Boston is interested in helping to support promising, new ideas for impacting the lives of women and teen girls. The Foundation is interested in finding and funding well-designed, effectively managed programs that may have escaped the notice of larger funders and/or are bringing a new solution to the sector. Womenade Boston is particularly interested in organizations or programs within organizations that are piloting new initiatives based on their experience and research around promising practice and have developed new or different interventions.
In 2018, Womenade Boston will make grants in 2 categories:
1) Providing support to organizations in the greater Boston area that empower teen girls – ages 12-21.
Womenade Boston seeks to support organizations and/or programs within organizations that address the needs of girls who might be economically disadvantaged, socially at risk, or without the mentors or role models they need to thrive. They are interested in supporting organizations or programs within organizations that work to change the personal outlook for the teen girls they work with by helping them to understand the realm of life-opportunities available to them and then motivating and working with them to develop the skill, knowledge-base, and self-esteem to achieve their goals and live fulfilling lives in their communities.
2) Providing support to organizations in the greater Boston area that empower women – ages 22 and older.
Womenade Boston seeks to support organizations and/or programs within organizations that address the needs of adult women who might be economically disadvantaged, socially at risk, or without the social supports they need to thrive. These may include but are not limited to women veterans, women coming out of prison, and women who have been subject to exploitation. They are interested in supporting organizations or programs within organizations that work to change the personal outlook for these women by helping them to identify and prepare for personal and job opportunities available to them, and then motivating and working with them to develop the skill, knowledge-base and self-esteem to achieve their goals and live fulfilling, self-sufficient lives in their communities.
Priority will be given to programs with annual budgets under $2.0M.
