Grants of up to $1,000 and grants of $3,000 to California nonprofits and public entities for programs that enrich the quality of life for residents of the greater Morgan Hill area. Funding areas of interest include arts and culture, science and technology, education and life-long learning, recreation, agriculture and environment, and health and human services.

The Foundation focuses on requests that have:
- Programs contributing positive and unique benefits in the funding areas listed about
- Local nonprofit involvement
- Fiscal responsibility and management qualifications
- Programs that impact a broad spectrum of community members
- Programs that charge minimal or no fees to participate

Two grants of $3,000 will be awarded.

Estimated Size of Grant:

2018 grant funding categories (choose one): Category 1: Grants up to $1,000. Category 2: Two Grants to be funded at $3,000.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

Organization should have:
- IRS letter confirming tax-exempt status under Section 501(c)(3) or
- Be a public entity or
- Have a fiscal sponsor with a tax-exempt status

MHCF grants are not normally awarded to:
- Individuals
- Influence legislation or elections
- Travel to or in support of conferences
- Organizations that are discriminatory
- Cover costs already incurred
- Programs or organizations outside the established MHCF boundaries
- Subsidize the writing, publications, or production of articles, books, or films
- Contributions to annual fund drives or in support of operational expenses, except during a start-up period not to exceed three years
- Fund the same organization/project for more than three consecutive years
- Religious purposes
- For-profit entities

Pre-Application Information:

Grants are awarded once a year.

The 2018 Grant application deadline is June 30.
