Grants to New Jersey arts and cultural nonprofit organizations in eligible counties for programming and organizational needs. First-time applicants must contact the funding source prior to submitting an application. Eligible organizations are those that serve one or more of the communities within the Foundation's geographic footprint: Atlantic, Cape May, Cumberland, Gloucester, Monmouth, and Ocean counties.

- Major Grant for General Operating/Flexible Support: Requests of $5,001 or more

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

OceanFirst Foundation considers requests from nonprofits (501c3) that can demonstrate a significant level of service and impact within one or more of the counties in OceanFirst Foundation’s New Jersey footprint – Atlantic, Cape May, Cumberland, Gloucester, Monmouth, and Ocean.

The mission of applicant organizations should also align with one or more of the Foundation's funding priorities: Health and Wellness, Housing, Improving Quality of Life, and Youth Development and Education. Organizations that discriminate based on race, color, national or ethnic origin, sex, age, disability, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, veteran status or other factors protected by law are ineligible for consideration.

In addition, funding cannot be provided for the following:
- Athletic teams, athletic events or sports leagues
- Individuals
- Organizations not exempt under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code
- Organizations that are not compliant with the State of New Jersey’s charitable registration requirements
- Political causes, candidates, organizations or campaigns or organizations designed primarily to lobby
- Programs operated by religious organizations for religious purposes. However, the Foundation will consider supporting such organizations provided the programs offered meet a need of the broader community, i.e., soup kitchens, homeless shelters and other social service needs
- Research
- Travel-related requests including student trips and tours

Pre-Application Information:

Application Deadlines:
Good Neighbor Grant for General Operating/Flexible Support – The deadline to submit a General Operating/Flexible Support Grant is March 1, 2022 (12 PM EST). The Foundation expects to notify applicants of the decision on their request no later than April 30, 2022.

Major Grant for General Operating/Flexible Support – The deadline to submit a STAGE 1 Letter of Interest is March 1, 2022 (12 PM EST). The Foundation expects to notify applicants that submit a STAGE 1 Letter of Interest of the decision on their request no later than March 31, 2022. Applicants invited to submit a STAGE 2 request should expect to be notified of the final disposition of their request no later than July 15, 2022.
