Grants ranging from $200 to $1,000 will be awarded in Maryland to Washington County Public School (WCPS) educators and employees for projects that help students with literacy, financial literacy, college career readiness, participation in science/math, or interdisciplinary instruction. Projects may also include support for at-risk students, support for the arts, technological support, or multicultural education.

Proposals should be innovative, directly impact WCPS students and should be aligned with the school system’s goals, procedures, and curriculum.

Projects must be implemented by the end of the 2014/2015 school year.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

Any Washington County Public School employee is eligible to submit an application. Interdisciplinary or team teaching projects are accepted.

Grant funds may not be used for the following:
-Snacks and/or refreshments
-County funded text books

Pre-Application Information:

Mini-grants will be awarded in the Spring of each school year. Applicants must include all requested information to be considered for funding.

Applications must be downloaded, typed, and printed for submission. Each Mini-Grant application must be approved and signed by the applicant’s principal, director, or supervisor and be submitted with that individual’s signature.

Applications must be submitted in hard copy AND email by the specified deadline. Please send the completed project application with signatures electronically to AND to the mailing address below.

Please note:
*All materials and equipment purchased with grant funds become the property of the school, not the individual teacher or grade level.
*Request for funding projects costing more than $1,000 will be rejected unless the budget includes details about how the balance will be funded.
